چکیده

This paper presents a real-time fullprogrammable fuzzy processor using piecewiselinear intelpolation techniques and implements it using the SSE (Streaming SIMD Extensions) set of instructions of an Intel Pentium III. A fullprogrammable fuzzy processor is defined as a system where the set of rules, the membership finctions, the t-norm, the t-conorm, the aggregation operator, the propagation operator, and the defuzzification can be defined by any valid algorithm. Real-time fuzzy processing is defined as processing the knowledge base in a constant time and with a minimum speed of 10 MFLIPS. The full-programmable fuzzy processor presented processes four 2 input-1 output fuzzy systems at 100 MFLIPS on an Intel Pentium III 450 MHz.

Fpga-based Model Implementation for Real-time Control of Smart Material Systems Operating in Hysteretic Regimes

Ferroelectric (e.g., PZT) and ferromagnetic materials exhibit varying degrees of hysteresis and constitutive nonlinearities at all drive levels due to their inherent domain structures. At low drive levels, these nonlinear effects can be mitigated through feedback mechanisms or certain amplifier architectures (e.g., charge or current control for PZT) so that linear models and control designs pro...

Efficient Exploitation of Parallelism on Pentium III and Pentium 4 Processor-Based Systems

Systems based on the Pentium III and Pentium 4 processors enable the exploitation of parallelism at a fineand medium-grained level. Dualand quad-processor systems, for example, enable the exploitation of mediumgrained parallelism by using multithreaded code that takes advantage of multiple control and arithmetic logic units. Streaming Single-Instruction-Multiple-Data (SIMD) extensions, on the o...

Characterizing the Performance of Data Management Systems on the Pentium 4 Hyper-Threaded Architecture

As the information acquisition and processing applications take greater roles in our everyday life, database management systems are growing in importance. Database management systems have traditionally exhibited poor cache performance and large memory footprints, therefore performing only at a fraction of their ideal execution and exhibiting low processor utilization. Previous research has stud...
